Don’t Hold Back!

The last time we were in Paris was during the strikes in 2010. The press covered it daily, and it scared Americans away. Our plane was half full because of all the cancelations. The city was beautiful and we only saw one protest and a little extra garbage.

The one protest happened while we were having dinner at a sidewalk cafe at night sitting next to some Brits. It consisted of 50-60 motorcyclists blocking the intersection for ten minutes while motorists honked their horns. Then the cyclists rode off for dinner and all returned to normal. A perfect French protest!

We can’t allow ourselves to be isolated by fear. World travel expands your perspective and understanding of other, wonderful cultures. We’ve been warned, be careful, but don’t let it hold you back.

There’s too much out there to see, and not enough time to see it, to hold back.
