I didn’t appreciate all of it, but I do like it when architects and builders put in the extra effort–and expense–to do something different. It’s so easy to be afraid of criticism, but to risk getting it is the only way forward too often.

My cab driver told me how much he hated this first building, but he knew all about it, so I think it was successful.
