Sons: Comic Store

David’s scared

Last weekend my sons, Will and David, and I went to Austin, Texas for the American MotoGP. When we got into town Saturday our first stop was Lucy’s for fried devil eggs and beer.

We then stopped at a famous comic book store. Many customers dress up to shop here. It’s like going to a comic con. The people watching is so good here that my sons had to make me leave.

We then went to Spider House. It’s a perfect Austin representation for “Weird Austin.” It serves great lattes, has a full bar, and has poetry readings. You can sit on their patio, have a drink, play a little chess with your sons, talk philosophy, and watch weird Austin come to you.

Eating Oysters

We ended the night at Perla’s eating oysters and drinking the perfect old fashioned two tables over from part of the Ducati Team.

At the MotoGP

We spent the next day at the Circuit of the Americas watching the Gran Prix. We packed a lot into twenty-four hours.

When your adult children enjoy spending time with you, you’re a lucky man.
