Sitafal–Custard Apple

Sitafal. Known as Custard Apple. I discovered it in Israeli Galilee region. It’s an Asian fruit that you can get at many Asian markets in your town.

It was introduced to me by two very nice, world traveling couples from California named Patel. We traveled through two countries together. Great after-the-day drink partners.

It’s sweet, tender and tastes seasoned–almost like it was prepared for you. You should look it up. It’ll be worth the trouble.

I know it looks like a pine cone, but it peels apart easily. In fact, it folds apart like a sandwich. It’s easy to eat.
