Murder For Me

My book cover for my new book, Murder For Me, will be out this week. It’s exciting, but also a relief to finally get into the next phase of publishing. I’m ready to get on to the next book, too.

When we began work on the cover, Sandy Lawrence of Perceptive Public Relations was already helping me. At the Houston Writers Guild Fall Independant Publishing Conference last September I realized I needed help getting my book in front of readers that would be in interested in my Psycho Thriller. I met Sandy, who specializes in helping authors.

After I hired her, we developed a plan. The first proposed cover shocked me it was so accurate, but it did have a couple of problems. The model was a bit young, and the shadow wasn’t clear enough. The second proposals were spot on, and I think you’ll agree with me when it’s revealed May 6 that it really is beautiful. It also correctly communicates the tension within the book.

I haven’t blogged much about the book itself. I’ve been waiting on now, the last steps before it’s published. I have a prequel to the first book coming out soon. It’s called O.C. Got Hoodooed.

O.C. is a police detective in Murder For Me, and in the prequel the reader will get to see when he first started with the police force. A few of the strengths which years later propel him to leading detective in the Homicide Division come out-and a few of his weaknesses as well.
