The winding road was laid out before the collectivo. The destination was Semuc Champey, squarely planted in an isolated valley,it’s roughly 3 miles past the exit for the middle of fucking nowhere. A quick survey of Google Maps revealed that it was a mere 178 Miles from Flores, with an estimated driving time of five and a half hours. Anyone who has taken a single bus in Guatemala will promptly inform you that Google is full of shit. It’s comforting to know that Google isn’t right about everything.
