From Houston to Amsterdam, we have a full flight. And a full, broken plane to begin with. The generator — whatever that is — is broken and we have to go back to “dock”. Then of course we have to refuel.
Full Flight
You know what it’s like on a full flight. Even with more room because it’s an “International Flight”, we’re packed. We’re an hour and a half late getting in the air. The attendants in coach are off schedule and we miss that nice “vacation” before-dinner drink.
We were supposed to have a choice of 3 different meals. (I usually like airline food). They’re all out. I get a pasta dish marinated in an unknown chemical that I last smelled in a hospital.
German Ladies
Some German ladies won’t stay in their seats and have to stand in the aisle next to me and talk to my neighbor on the other side. Every time one of them bends over to tell a secret, I get a butt punch to the head. (That’s actually pretty funny).
With all that, my wife leans over and asks if I’m having fun. She knows me. Squeezing people from all over the world with different cultures and rules into a tiny space is a show I love. It’s one of my favorite parts of traveling.
Yes, this chaos is fun. Hope the flight from Amsterdam to Delhi is as good.
Bah-hahahahaha! I laughed til I cried! What a great description! I can feel the full plane and the way it gets stuffy in there when you sit while they “fix” the plane. But the “butt punch to the head” – oh I wish I could have seen that! I bet Melinda was crying she was laughing so hard – I bet you were too! Glad you are having fun. Keep the stories coming!
