Houston’s Convention District is ready for the Final Four. They have worked twenty-four hours a day all week to get it done. New work crews came at 2:00 am each night, and you could hear them move construction equipment all night.
Fan Fest opened yesterday. The two pictures above show the inside. It’s a great place to visit if you have kids, otherwise you might not get much out of it considering the crowds you’ll have to deal with.

Streets will be blocked. They started closing streets Thursday. They’ve built stages and obviously planned for the audiences to stand in the streets watching. Red in the map marks blocked streets this weekend.
The smaller stages are next to Discovery Green Park in a nearby parking lot. They are up and ready to go. Concession stands and a compound of bathrooms are up. They’ve built a fence around the park to control crowd size. You’ll want to take the train in early Saturday and Sunday.
Park along the train line and take the train in. I cannot stress that enough. The Music Festival has taken many of the available parking space, and they expect massive crowds.
The out-of-town fans began pouring into downtown yesterday afternoon and the traffic at 10:00pm looked like rush hour. The bars are packed and the fans are happy-they’re teams haven’t played, yet. Have a great weekend.
