I just finished reading Seveneves by Neal Stephenson. It’s an eight hundred page science fiction book that is really three books in one. I saw it last week on Bill Gate’s summer book recommendations, and after reading several reviews I downloaded it on kindle.

This book is near science fiction. It’s about the near science. Stephenson is highly technical and detailed, and he goes on for pages on things like what living in space is really like.

But then Stephenson explodes with imagination and builds a universe that surprises you again on every page. It’s like starting a new book.

I won’t tell you more because I don’t want to spoil it for you, but I recommend it. Bill Gates was right.
